Fresno Man, 54, Killed in Highway 41 Pedestrian Collision
FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2022) — David Preciado, 54, of Fresno, died in a pedestrian accident happened Wednesday morning on the northbound Highway 41, just south of McKinley Avenue.
The collision occurred about 5:41 p.m. on Oct. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a 25-year-old Kerman man in a white Toyota Scion struck the man in the roadway. The driver saw the man in the center divider area as he drove on the northbound Highway 41. He told investigators the pedestrian suddenly ran in front of his Scion and he hit him.
The man’s body crashed through the windshield, injuring the driver of the Scion, Fox26News reports.
Other vehicles including a 2010 Ford Focus and a silver Hyundai Elantra were stopped, but it’s unknown if they were involved. A driver named Hector Padilla called 911 to report his white Mercedes CLA 250 may have also been involved, the report said.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the pedestrian’s death on scene. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner released the victim’s name on Friday, Oct. 7th.
Meanwhile, the driver in the Scion suffered moderate injuries and was transported to St. Agnes Medical Center for treatment.
Also, tow trucks removed the Ford Focus, the Hyundai Elantra and the Scion from the crash scene.
Finally, investigators are piecing together evidence to determine fault for the pedestrian accident.
