Fatal Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Collision Near Rice Avenue
Oxnard, CA (November 22, 2022) – David Reich, a 59-year-old man, died following a DUI crash that occurred on 101 Freeway on November 6.
The KVTA News reported Reich was riding a 1972 BMW motorcycle heading south on the freeway in Oxnard. In the area before Rice Avenue, a 2018 Honda struck the rear end of the motorcyclist. The force from the impact ejected the man from his motorbike. When medical personnel arrived, they immediately rendered aid to the victim. The rider sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. Authorities later confirmed the identity of the deceased as David Reich.
Anthony Pacheco Arrested After Oxnard DUI Crash on 101 Freeway
Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned the driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot. Police later tracked down and arrested the hit-and-run suspect. The driver of the Honda, 32-year-old Anthony Pacheco III, later pleaded guilty to Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence; and admitted a Special Allegation of Fleeing the Scene of a Crime.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
