Teen Killed in Fresno County Crash Identified
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (May 6, 2021) — David Santiago, 19, died Wednesday in a pedestrian accident on Highway 180 in Fresno County.
A driver in a Toyota Corolla struck the 19-year-old man as he exited a truck and stepped into the roadway.
Police report the teenager was riding in the back of a truck that pulled over at the Fowler Avenue off-ramp. Also, David Cordova Santiago got out of the vehicle about 10:20 p.m. and an eastbound car struck the pedestrian, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fresno County Crash Investigation
Meanwhile, police confirmed during their investigation that the victim was under the influence of alcohol, according to Your Central Valley. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner’s office identified David Cordova Santiago as the victim who died in the crash.
Finally, the 35-year-old man driving the Toyota pulled over and stopped. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
