Man Dies in Hospital After Major Car Accident in February
EL CAJON, Calif. (March 11, 2025) — David Serna, 75, of La Mesa, died at the hospital roughly two weeks after an El Cajon pedestrian accident on Johnson Avenue in San Diego County.
The La Mesa man died on Sunday, March 2nd at Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
He was hospitalized following a pedestrian accident around 7:21 p.m. on Feb. 12th in the 700 block of North Johnson Avenue in El Cajon, the report said.
The victim was walking across the street when he was hit by a northbound driver in a Volkswagen sedan, police said.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was treated for a head injury, but his health declined and he died around 5:15 a.m. on March 2nd.
The case is under investigation by the El Cajon Police Department.
