 David Stubbers Arrested Rohnert Park Wrong-way Fatal Crash on Highway 101Wrong-way Driver Arrested on Possible DUI Charges for Deadly Crash

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2021) — Police arrested David Stubbers, 26, of San Diego, Friday following a fatal wrong-way crash on Highway 101 in the Rohnert Park area.

The San Diego man allegedly drove the wrong way as he entered the southbound lanes of Highway 101 about 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The motorist crashed into another motorist just north of the Golf Course Drive off ramp, police said.

Stubbers was driving a Ford Edge when it collided with an oncoming Mazda 3. The 23-year-old Santa Rosa man driving the Mazda was critically injured and became trapped in his vehicle. Firefighters freed the man and paramedics transported him by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The young man died shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Also, paramedics also transported David Stubbers to a local hospital. Police arrested him upon his release. They believe that the motorist was driving under the influence of an unknown intoxicant and they are investigating.

The suspect is being held at Sonoma County jail without bail.
