David Wensloff, 57, Killed in Santa Rosa Pedestrian Crash at College and Mendocino

SANTA ROSA, CA (March 16, 2022) – Pedestrian David Wensloff was killed after a crash at College and Mendocino avenues in Santa Rosa.

Police identified the 57-year-old San Luis Obispo man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened when David Allen Wensloff was at the southwest corner of the intersection of College and Mendocino avenues in Santa Rosa.

At the same time, a Toyota Rav4 was going west. For an unknown reason, the driver then struck the victim in the right lane of College Avenue.

Man Hit by Car

He ended up thrown into the air and landed about 100 feet upon impact. David Wensloff sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the transient man to a hospital, where he died. The Press Democrat wrote that the collision occurred at about 6 a.m.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 26-year-old Santa Rosa man driving the car stopped and stayed at the site. He cooperated with the officers.

Officers forced the area of College and Mendocino to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the Santa Rosa pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
