Deputy Caleb Collins Seriously Injured in Turlock Motorcycle Crash at Main and Tully
TURLOCK (June 25, 2020) – Authorities detained the alleged DUI driver in a crash that seriously injured an on-duty deputy at Main Street and Tully Road on Thursday.
Officers determined that 33-year-old Davis Arthur Rolland Buhrmann was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs when the collision occurred.
According to The Turlock Journal and The Modesto Bee, the incident began when Buhrmann was driving a 2001 Ford pickup east in the far left turn lane of West Main Street.

At the same time, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy Caleb Collins was riding a 2020 BMW motorcycle west on Main in the No. 1 lane, approaching North Tully Road.
California Highway Patrol said Buhrmann then made a left turn and slammed into Collins who was going through the intersection on a green light. The wreck happened at about 6:49 a.m.
Collins was thrown from his bike, before ultimately landing on the road. Paramedics responded to the scene and took the five-year veteran to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.
Meanwhile, Buhrmann stopped following the incident. CHP arrested the suspect on felony charges of driving under the influence and DUI causing injury.
