Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Interstate 8
Boulevard, CA (March 1, 2023) – Dawn Michelle McDermott, a 46-year-old female, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 8 Freeway.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune News, McDermott and her family were heading east on I-8 near McCain Valley Road on February 25, Saturday. Earlier reports indicated the driver of the car pulled over when McDermott began acting irrational.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Boulevard
Officials said the McDermott immediately stepped out of the car when it stopped. While standing along the freeway, a passing vehicle struck the woman along the eastbound lanes of I-8. The force from the impact resulted in life-threatening injuries to the victim. Despite efforts performed by responding paramedics, the woman sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased as Dawn Michelle McDermott, of Kansas.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the horrible crash.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 8 in Boulevard.
