The crash took place shortly before 9 p.m., just south of West Paige Avenue.
CHP first logged the incident when a vehicle slammed into a pole on the highway. The driver, who appeared to be bleeding, was seen outside the car following the collision.
Also, the dispatch included that a female and juvenile occupants were possibly inside the vehicle.
Fire department personnel along with the paramedics responded to the scene and affirmed that at least one person was killed in the wreck.
It was unclear however if any other party sustained injuries upon impact.
Meanwhile, the impact of the crash knocked the pole down. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
