LEMOORE, California (May 13, 2016) – A deadly traffic collision took place in the area of Front and Hamill streets late Friday night, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The crash occurred at 14148 Front Street about 10:05 p.m.CHP first logged the incident as a minor injury accident which possibly involved three
Per the Hanford Sentinel, a 16-year-old woman was the driver of a Toyota traveling eastbound along Front Street before losing control, hitting a power line, two trees, and then a brick wall.
Two passengers accompanied the driver, both 17-year-old women.
One of the passengers, Sierra Valenzuela, 17, died of her injuries after being admitted to Adventist Medical Center.
Both the 16-year-old driver and the second 17-year-old passenger who remain unidentified were seriously injured and remain hospitalized at Adventist Med Center.
Per the Hanford Sentinel, Sierra Valenzuela was a student at Hanford West High School.
Police officials have ruled out the possibility of drugs or alcohol playing a role in this incident and confirmed that all parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
