Deadly DUI Crash Highway 113, Hay Road in Solano County
Man, 63, Killed in Head-on Crash; DUI Suspect Hospitalized
SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. (March 26, 2025) — One 63-year-old man is dead after a crash involving a suspected DUI driver Tuesday night on Highway 113, near Hay Road in Solano County.
The fatal head-on collision occurred around 7:43 p.m. on March 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the two-vehicle crash happened when a suspected drunk driver veered into the path of another motorist, the report said.
Paramedics responded to the crash scene where bystanders were using fire extinguishers and attempting to put out a fire in a Saturn, the CHP report said.
Unfortunately, the man driving the Saturn suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old man driving the Dodge had major injuries and was hospitalized at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center. Authorities suspect this driver was intoxicated, however, it’s unknown if any arrests were made due to his injuries.
Tow trucks removed both vehicles for evidence including the burned out Saturn and the Dodge pickup truck with a missing left-front tire.
Police closed down the highway between Fry and Hay roads to investigate.
