Deadly North Hills Crash on the 405 Freeway, at Nordhoff Street

Andrew Valdez, 19, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Freeway in North Hills

NORTH HILLS, Calif. (April 21, 2025) – Andrew Valdez, 19, died early Sunday in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway at the Nordhoff Street exit in North Hills.

The crash, involving a red van and a white sedan, occurred on southbound I-405 at 2 a.m. on April 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Andrew Valdez suffered major injuries and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office.

Authorities issued a SigAlert at 2:31 a.m. and closed down the southbound lanes of the freeway at the Nordhoff St. off-ramp, the report said.
