Fatal Crash on Live Oak Canyon Road

SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., (May 8, 2026) — A tragic accident involving an overturned vehicle resulted in a fatality on Live Oak Canyon Road near Lambrose Canyon Road on Thursday evening in the Trabuco Canyon area of south Orange County.

The incident, reported around 8:00 p.m. on May 7th, happened when a Mini Cooper overturned at the location 30724-30983 Live Oak Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log. The vehicle reportedly contained two adult occupants. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene.

At approximately 8:03 p.m., a request for Southside Tow from Lake Forest was made to assist with vehicle recovery. Both lanes of the road were blocked as a result of the accident, causing significant delays in the area. The occupants of the vehicle were transported by emergency services, and sadly, one individual succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family.

The Orange County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The circumstances leading to the Mini Cooper overturning remain unclear at this time.
