Two Injured in Crash on Highway 190 Near Beatty Junction

DEATH VALLEY, Calif., (April 8, 2026) — Two people riding a motorcycle were seriously injured in a crash Wednesday on State Route 190, just east of Salt Creek Road in the Death Valley in the Mojave Desert.

The collision, which appears to be a solo crash, occurred around 9:22 a.m. on April 8th, north of Beatty Junction, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Emergency crews responded to the scene where they discovered one motorcyclist suffering from labored breathing and unconsciousness. The individual was subsequently airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas via Mercy Air for urgent medical care.

Details from the incident log reveal that at around 10:12 a.m., Desert Towing was en route to the scene, indicating the removal of the motorcycle from the location. Additionally, CHP reclassified the incident as a major injury collision shortly after noon.

Both parties involved in the collision were transported for medical treatment, underscoring the severity of the incident.

The authorities have not released the identities of the individuals involved, and there have been no updates on their current conditions. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
