Passenger Dies After Cars Crash Into Group of Deer Near Camp Layman Road
Graeagle, CA (December 2, 2022) – Debra Lee Dunn, a 33-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries following a road collision that happened on Highway 70.
The Plumas News reported Debra was a passenger in a 2005 Nissan Sentra driven by her husband, 67-year-old Charles Dunn. Our sources indicated the Sentra was heading west on the highway directly behind a 2019 Nissan Armada.
When the cars approached the area near Camp Layman Road, the driver of the Armada slowed down to give way to a group of deer. For reasons still unclear, Charles did not notice the Armada come to a stop. The Sentra ended up slamming into the rear of the Armada. Due to the force from the impact, both cars ended up spinning towards the north shoulder of SR-70.
Fatal Car Accident on Highway 70 in Graeagle
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 1:56 p.m. When medical personnel arrived, they attended to all the occupants in the Sentra and Armada. The passenger in the Sentra, Debra Lee Dunn, sadly suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The two drivers appeared unharmed after the collision. At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the unfortunate event that occurred on Highway 70 in Graeagle.
