Pedestrian Debra Reynoso, 57, Killed in Santa Barbara Crash on Highway 101
SANTA BARBARA, CA (April 5, 2022) – Debra Reynoso was killed after a pedestrian crash on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara.
The coroner’s office identified the 57-year-old Santa Barbara woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Monday night.
The incident happened when Debra Reynoso was trying to cross from the right shoulder on southbound Highway 101 in Santa Barbara towards the median.
At the same time, a Buick LeSabre was traveling in the right-hand lane. The California Highway Patrol said the car then struck her near Castillo Street.

Debra Reynoso sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found her down on the ground.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Noozhawk News and KEYT News wrote that the collision occurred on April 4 shortly before midnight.
The driver of the Buick, 31-year-old Isaac Joseph Vargas, stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman. The Santa Barbara man cooperated with the officers.
The cause of the Santa Barbara pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 805-967-1234.
