
1 Injured in Del Norte County Crash on Highway 101 Near Lake Earl
DEL NORTE COUNTY, CA (February 24, 2023) – One was hospitalized after a crash on Highway 101 near Lake Earl Drive in Del Norte County.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on February 23 at around 3:50 p.m.
The incident happened when two pickup trucks collided for an unknown reason in the Fort Dick community of Del Norte County. The cars crashed on Highway 101 near Lake Earl Drive.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the vehicles as a Toyota Tacoma and a Chevrolet Silverado. Both pickup trucks went off the road, just south of Reynolds Lane, upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the Chevrolet who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Highway 101 to shut down near Lake Earl following the wreck. The cause of the Del Norte County crash is still under investigation.
