1 Seriously Injured in Delano Crash at Highway 43 and Garces Highway
DELANO, CA (May 21, 2021) – One was seriously injured after a car crash at Highway 43 and Garces Highway in Delano.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team received a call about the accident on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 9 p.m.
According to CHP, a Nissan 4-door sedan and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Delano. They crashed on southbound Highway 43 at the intersection with Garces Highway.
Car Collision Near State Prison
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Kern Valley State Prison. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment of a broken leg. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the intersection of Highway 43 and Garces Highway to shut down following the wreck. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the Delano crash.
