Dolores Nelson Killed; Man Hurt Granite Bay Crash Auburn Folsom Road
GRANITE BAY, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2020) — Dolores Nelson, 92, of Folsom, was killed, another motorist was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Eureka Road and Auburn Folsom Road in Granite Bay.
The crash was reported at 1:18 p.m. at the Granite Bay intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A silver 2016 Volkswagen Jetta reported rear-ended a red 2017 Toyota Prius in the No. 1 lane of Auburn Folsom Road as it was stopped at a red light. The impact pushed the car across a sidewalk and through a concrete wall.
Furthermore, the Jetta had major front-end damage and the red car had major front and rear-end damage after the crash.
As a result, both vehicles required towing and one was being held as evidence.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded to the crash scene and rushed both drivers to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Unfortunately, Dolores Nelson suffered fatal injuries and died at the hospital. The 36-year-old man driving the Volkswagen was critically injured.
Authorities are seeking to find out the cause of the crash and liability. Additionally, witnesses are encouraged to contact police to help them solve the cause of the crash and liability.
