3 Injured in Fatal Escalon Crash Highway 120
ESCALON, Calif. (June 5, 2018) — Demetrio Martinez-Sanchez, 35, of Mountain View has been identified as the driver who died in a collision Saturday morning on Highway 120 in Escalon, the Modesto Bee reports.
Three vehicles were involved in the 5:50 a.m. collision near Sutliff Road. Martinez-Sanchez, 35, was reportedly driving with two male passengers eastbound in a A GMC Yukon Denali. He crossed into the westbound lane where he struck a Subaru. The driver of the Subaru swerved to avoid colliding with the Yukon. Next, a Ford truck that was driving behind the Subaru struck the Yukon head-on.
Martinez-Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene and his passengers were taken by ambulance to a hospital for undisclosed injuries. The driver of the Ford truck suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. There were no other reported injuries.
Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision in an effort to determine fault. Early indications are that the man who died is responsible. His passengers and the driver of the Ford truck, may have the right to file a personal injury claim to compensate them for their financial losses.
