Demetrio Paz, 62, Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Near Central Avenue and 112th Street
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 19, 2021) – Demetrio Paz was killed after a hit-and-run crash near Central Avenue and 112th Street in Los Angeles.
The coroner’s office identified the 62-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Friday night. It occurred near the Green Meadows and Watts neighborhoods.
The incident began when Demetrio Bravo Paz was walking across Central Avenue in Los Angeles. At the same time, a vehicle was going north.
For an unknown reason, the driver struck the pedestrian crossing the street. Police said another motorist came and then ran over the victim.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicles
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the man down on the ground, just south of 112th Street. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Demetrio Paz died at the scene of the Los Angeles crash. KTLA News and My News LA wrote that the accident happened on September 17 at about 10:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the first driver who hit the pedestrian did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The second motorist stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
