Denise Canez, 17, Killed San Jacinto DUI Crash at Ramona Boulevard and Lyon Avenue
SAN JACINTO (February 4, 2018) – One died and several others were injured after an alleged DUI crash at Ramona Boulevard and Lyon Avenue late Friday night, according to The Press-Enterprise.
Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased victim as 17-year-old Denise Canez, of Rialto.
As per the article, officials said a Honda Accord was going west on Ramona Boulevard when it struck a Toyota Sienna headed north on Lyon Avenue. The collision took place at 11:52 p.m.
The Honda was allegedly speeding and failed to stop at the posted stop sign when it struck the Toyota at the intersection.
Canez, who was riding as a passenger in the Sienna, was rushed to Hemet Valley Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
All of the occupants of both cars were also hospitalized with unspecified injuries. The total number of the wounded parties and their names and condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, deputies believed that alcohol played a role in the tragic incident. The investigation is ongoing.
