Meiyu Li, 59; and Paisley Chen, 1, Victims in San Gabriel Hit-and-Run Accident
SAN GABRIEL (October 30, 2018) – The hit-and-run driver who killed a baby girl and her grandmother at Del Mar Avenue and Live Oak Street on Saturday has been arrested.
According to NBC and CBS Los Angeles, police identified the suspect as 48-year-old Dennis Anthony Perez.
Perez was driving a blue Chevy S-10 pickup Xtreme when he struck 59-year-old Meiyu Li and her 1-year-old granddaughter Paisley Chen on October 27 at about 9:35 p.m. Initial reports indicated that the man was speeding at the time.

As per the police officials, Li was pushing Chen in a stroller in a crosswalk at the intersection of Del Mar Avenue and Live Oak Street when they were hit by the truck.
Li was taken to San Gabriel Valley Medical Center while the child was rushed to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Meanwhile, Perez did not stop to render aid and fled east on Las Tunas Drive. He was later found and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
The alleged hit-and-run motorist has reportedly more than three DUIs. The investigation is ongoing.
