Bicyclist Killed in Oakland Car Accident at 35th and Galindo
OAKLAND, Calif. (July 30, 2018) – Deontae Bush, 34, of Oakland died Friday night when he was struck by a van at 35th Avenue and Galindo Street, according to the East Bay Times.
The collision took place just before 9 p.m. on July 27th in East Oakland. A 40-year-old Oakland man was driving the Chevrolet Express Limited van that struck the victim. The van was entering the intersection at the same time as Bush. The driver stopped and contacted authorities at the scene. Paramedics responded and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
The victim was identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.
Traffic Accident Investigation
At this time, we do not know who is responsible for this man’s death. A full investigation into what happened is underway by police who are interviewing witnesses and those involved to piece together what happened. They will also go over evidence at the scene and take measurements to confirm fault.
