Deputy Caleb Collins Seriously Injured in Turlock Crash at Main Street and Tully Road
TURLOCK (June 25, 2020) – An on-duty deputy was seriously injured after an alleged DUI crash at West Main Street and North Tully Road on Thursday morning.
According to reports by The Turlock Journal and The Modesto Bee, authorities identified the victim as Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy Caleb Collins.
The incident began when Collins was driving a 2020 BMW motorcycle westbound on Main Street in the No. 1 lane, approaching Tully Road.

At the same time, a 2001 Ford pickup was headed east in the far left turn lane. California Highway Patrol said Collins was traveling through the intersection when the truck made a left turn.
The car then collided with the deputy who reportedly had a green light. The five-year veteran was ejected from his bike upon impact and landed on the road.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed him to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries. The collision took place at about 6:49 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the male driver of the Ford was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Officers ultimately arrested him on felony charges of driving under the influence and DUI causing injury.
