DESERT HOT SPRINGS, California (March 17, 2017)
— One person is dead and two others were injured early Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision at Palm Drive and Camino Campanero, according to a report by the Riverside County Fire Department.
The crash took place about 5:16 a.m. today. Riverside firefighters rushed to the scene where they found two vehicles and three occupants. The vehicles suffered major damage and all three people were trapped in them and had to be extricated by arriving firefighters.
One of the victims died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified the deceased as 22-year-old Taryn Rogers, of Desert Hot Springs.
The other two suffered moderate and major injuries respectively and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment. Both are expected to recover. Their names and condition were not released.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by police to determine liability.
