James Scott, 49, of Cathedral City, John Tavernier, 58, of Palm Springs, ID as Victims Killed in Crash
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, California (Sunday, January 24, 2016) – Three ambulances responded to a traffic collision Sunday night on North Indian Canyon Drive and 19th Avenue. Two people died and three sustained major injuries in the crash. Two fire-engines with a complement of seven firefighters helped secure the scene, according to an incident report by the Riverside County Fire Department and The Desert Sun News.
The injured were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center where they were treated for major injuries, but James Scott, 49, of Cathedral City, died at the hospital. John Tavernier, 58, of Palm Springs, died of his injuries at the scene of the crash, the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner said.
The incident took place this evening at about 7:24 p.m., according to an incident report by the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino. No further information is available.
