Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Desert Hot Springs Crash Near Ironwood and Ocotillo
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (June 19, 2022) – A crash seriously injured a pedestrian near Ironwood Drive and Ocotillo Road in Desert Hot Springs.
According to The Desert Sun and KESQ News, the accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at around 10:30 p.m.
The incident happened on June 18 when a female pedestrian was standing near a parked vehicle in front of a residence in Desert Hot Springs.
At the same time, a Chevrolet Cobalt was going east on Ironwood Drive past Ocotillo Road. For an unknown reason, the driver drifted to the right.
Driver Hits Victim
Police said in the process, the Chevrolet struck the victim in the 66-600 block of Ironwood. She ended up pinned against the parked vehicle as a result of the collision.
The patient sustained major injuries following the accident. Paramedics arrived at the scene and soon rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
The name of the wounded party and her condition at this time were not released. Police did not mention if the 64-year-old motorist stopped and stayed after hitting the victim.
Officers forced the area of Ironwood and Ocotillo to shut down after the incident. The cause of the Desert Hot Springs pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
