Woman Seriously Injured in Desert Hot Springs Hit-and-Run at Mountain View and Whitney
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (September 10, 2021) – A hit-and-run seriously injured a pedestrian at Mountain View Road and Whitney Court in Desert Hot Springs.
According to an article published by the KESQ News, the accident took place late Thursday night. Officers reported the collision at about 11:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident happened on September 9. A vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle
The driver hit her at the intersection of Mountain View Road and Whitney Court in Desert Hot Springs. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found the woman in her 40s left suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. They then rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area.
Officers forced Mountain View Drive to shut down near Whitney Court following the collision. The cause of the Desert Hot Springs hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
