Destiny De Leon Alvarado Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 805 Freeway

Woman, 24, Struck While Exiting Her Vehicle on I-805 in National City

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2026) — Destiny Crystal De Leon Alvarado, 24, of Chula Vista, died after being struck by a vehicle on southbound Interstate 805, south of East Fourth Street in National City, on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.

The collision was reported at approximately 6:05 a.m., according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

De Leon Alvarado had exited her stopped vehicle on the freeway when she was struck by a passing vehicle, according to the medical examiner’s report.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found De Leon Alvarado with fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at 6:22 a.m.

The medical examiner determined that the cause of death was blunt force injuries and classified the death as an accident.

De Leon Alvarado was a resident of Chula Vista, California. Authorities confirmed that her next of kin had been notified.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal pedestrian collision.
