Devon Valdepena, 14, Injured in Oildale Hit-and-Run at Norris and Rench Roads
OILDALE (June 1, 2020) – A teenage skateboarder was hospitalized after an alleged hit-and-run crash in the area of Norris and Rench roads on Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol officers received a call about the accident at approximately 6:20 a.m. It happened near the Meadows Field Airport.
According to their dispatch, for an unknown reason a vehicle clipped the teen riding a skateboard at the intersection of Norris and Rench roads.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the juvenile left injured following the collision. The rider suffered minor to moderate injuries in the incident.
Medical personnel rushed the victim, identified in the report as 14-year-old Devon Valdepena, to Kern Medical Center for treatment. The condition of the patient remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver involved apparently did not stop and then left the site. Authorities are still gathering more information and evidence to locate the motorist.
