RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2022)  — Diana Aguirre, 34, of Perris, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Wednesday night on State Route Highway 74 in Perris.

The deadly crash occurred about 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities say a driver of a silver 2008 to 2012 Honda Accord struck the Perris woman as she walked south on Highway 74 at the intersection with Ethanac Road.

The unidentified male motorist fled the scene without stopping to help the woman.

Investigators say the driver continued driving westbound on Highway 74, knowing he struck someone because the pedestrian was thrown up into the vehicle’s windshield, the CHP said.

Diane Aguirre’s body landed in the highway’s westbound #1 lane where she was pronounced dead by arriving paramedics.

The Honda involved in the crash will have major front-end damage and a missing front bumper, police said. Additionally, the vehicle will have major windshield damage.

Finally, witnesses or anyone with information about the crash should call CHP Temecula Area office at 951-506-2000.
