LACo Sheriff’s Deputy Killed, Passenger Hurt in Sports Car Crash

 Diana Whang Temple City Crash Santa Anita Ave, Freer Street TEMPLE CITY, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2021) – Diana Whang, 28, of Temecula, was injured in a Temple City high-speed crash that killed a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy behind the wheel of a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427.

Cameron Blaine Fish, 33, was driving the sports car “at a high rate of speed” on Santa Anita Avenue. He reportedly lost control of the roadster and crashed the car, according to ABC News.

The driver died in the 2:10 a.m. crash on Thursday, Sept. 16th, but his passenger, Diana Whang survived with moderate injuries.

The vehicle crashed on Santa Anita Avenue, just north of Freer Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cameron Fish, who is a sheriff’s deputy, died at the scene of the solo crash, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed his passenger identified as Diana Whang to a hospital for a head injury. The Los Angeles County Fire Department, listed the Temecula woman in critical condition shortly after being ejected in the violent crash.

Authorities say Cameron Fish was traveling northbound on Santa Anita Avenue in the vintage Shelby Cobra at a high rate of speed. Unfortunately, he was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway. That’s when he crossed onto the center media and hit a light pole.

The Sheriff’s deputy was ejected from his vehicle during the collision. Investigators seek to determine whether or not alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this crash, police said.
