Diane Lancaster ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in El Monte Crash
EL MONTE, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2019) – Diane Lancaster, 58, was struck and killed on Jan. 6th by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of Rosemead Boulevard at Whitmore Street, according to El Monte police.
The collision was reported to police about 5:39 a.m. on January 6th. The El Monte Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s offices sent deputies to the scene after someone called 911 to report the crash. Sadly, the woman died of her injuries at the scene, according to the El Monte Police Department.
The investigation into the crash by police indicated that alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving did not appear to be factors in the collision.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene of the crash. The report did not indicate whether Lancaster was walking in a marked crosswalk or not.
Los Angeles County Accident Investigation
Police are piecing together what caused this collision to determine fault.
At this time, police will speak to any witnesses to learn what happened. It’s unknown at this time if there was any surveillance cameras or dash cam footage that can help police with their investigation.
