Woman Riding Bicycle Hit by Car in Perris Crash
PERRIS, Calif. (February 12, 2024) – Diane Rotarius, 54, of Riverside, was struck and killed on Friday while riding a bicycle at South A Street and Redding Way in Perris.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Perris station responded to the Perris intersection at around 2:54 p.m. on February 9, 2024, according to the Riverside coroner.
The woman was reportedly struck by a vehicle that was attempting to turn left from Redding Way onto South A Street. The bicycle rider allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was struck by the vehicle at the intersection, according to the Sierra Sun Times.
Deputies responded and located the woman suffering major injuries, but unfortunately she died at the scene of the accident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with police and their investigation.
The Perris Sheriff’s Station Reconstruction Team is working on the case.
