Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash on Cedar Avenue is Identified
FRESNO, Calif. (Jan. 27, 2021) — Dickie Baker, 53, of Fresno, was identified by the coroner as the pedestrian who died a week ago in a crash on Cedar Avenue.
However, police officers have not located the suspected hit-and-run driver who left the man to die last Thursday night on Jan. 21st.
The Fresno Police Department reported the 53-year-old man was struck about 6:30 p.m. Furthermore, a driver in an unknown vehicle struck him on Cedar Avenue, between McKinley and Olive Avenues.
Also, the report states the victim was jay-walking across Cedar Avenue. Dickie Baker, who was identified by the Fresno coroner, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the crash scene and so far has not been identified. Police are investigating the crash and seeking help locating the suspect. Witnesses are urged to contact authorities to help them solve the case.
