Diego Barragan, 19; and Danyell Williams, 24, Injured in Sylmar Crash
SYLMAR (December 29, 2018) – Two injured men have been identified after a fatal alleged wrong-way crash on the 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway connector ramp early Friday, according to The Antelope Valley Times.
The victims are 19-year-old Diego Barragan and 24-year-old Danyell Williams. Both are from Palmdale.
As per the article, the tragic collision took place at around 3:25 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway transition road to the northbound 14 Freeway.
A male motorist was traveling south in the northbound fast lane of the freeway transition when his 1998 Honda Accord collided head-on with the 2017 Ford Mustang driven by Barragan.
The Mustang was ultimately forced into the 2001 Chevrolet Williams was driving.
3 Killed in Car Accident on 5 Freeway and 14 Freeway
California Highway Patrol affirmed that an 18-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Ford was seriously injured and was rushed to a hospital where she died.
Barragan suffered major injuries while Williams sustained minor wounds upon impact. Both were hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the two men in the Accord were also pronounced dead at the accident site. The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
