Dinh Nguyen, 78, Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Crash on Cedar Avenue
FRESNO, CA (August 27, 2021) – A pedestrian crash killed Dinh Nguyen near Cedar Avenue and Hamilton Avenue in Fresno.
The Coroner’s Office identified the 78-year-old Fresno man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Thursday morning.
The incident began when a vehicle was traveling at about 35 mph southbound on South Cedar Avenue near East Hamilton Avenue.
Elderly Man Hit by Car
Fresno police said for an unknown reason, the car hit Dinh Nguyen in the roadway. The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley wrote the accident occurred on August 26 at about 6:45 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the site near the Sequoia Middle School. They found Dinh Nguyen who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the pedestrian crash.
Medical personnel then rushed him to the hospital, where he died. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver stopped and stayed at the scene after hitting the man.
The cause of the Fresno collision is still under investigation.
