Minor Injury Head-on Car Accident in Discovery Bay

DISCOVERY BAY, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2023) — A head-on crash in Discovery Bay happened Tuesday morning at Marsh Creek Road and Fertado Lane.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 9 a.m. between an SUV and a pickup truck near 26876 Marsh Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a black 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe and a silver GMC truck were involved. The SUV went off the roadway and landed in a ditch, the report said. A woman in one of the vehicles sustained injuries to her head, face and legs during the crash, but there were no major injuries, the report said.

The Contra Costa County Fire Department sent medical crews to the scene and at least one person was transported to a hospital for minor injuries.

Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles due to damage and airbags were deployed, the report said.

It’s unknown what led up to the crash on Marsh Creek Road at this time.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on Marsh Creek Road.
