1 Seriously Injured Discovery Bay Crash at Highway 4 and Bixler Road
DISCOVERY BAY, CA (September 4, 2021) – A head-on crash seriously injured at least one person at Highway 4 and Bixler Road in Discovery Bay.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the wreck took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the accident at about 7:45 a.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason in Discovery Bay. They crashed on eastbound Highway 4 at the intersection with Bixler Road.
2 Vehicles Collide Head-On
The incident log described the cars as a gray Toyota Tacoma and a black Ford Edge. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Byron.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at the time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the eastbound Highway 4 at Bixler to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Discovery Bay crash is still under investigation.
