Motorcyclist, Several Others Injured in Suspected Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 4

November 4, 2018 – Several people were injured in two separate but related traffic collisions on Highway 4 Sunday afternoon.
According to NBC News, the first crash happened at 5:12 p.m. between a Subaru and a motorcycle. The collision resulted in major injuries to the motorcyclist, whose name remained unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, officials identified the Subaru driver as 33-year-old Kathleen Campbell, of Discovery Bay. Investigators mentioned Campbell fled the scene of the motorcycle crash.
Then, at approximately 5:24 p.m. in the area of Highway 4 and Discovery Bay Boulevard, the same Subaru driven by Campbell collided head-on into a Saturn sedan carrying five people. The names of the parties occupying the Saturn have not been disclosed thus far.
Hit-and-Run and DUI Driver Kathleen Campbell Arrested After Discovery Bay Crashes
Primary reports indicated multiple helicopter transports and ambulances were called to the accident scenes. As per the article, at least six people were injured in the crashes and all victims were taken to hospitals.
Shortly after the wrecks, authorities reportedly arrested Campbell on suspicion of felony DUI. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
