Discovery Bay Crash on Hwy 4
DISCOVERY BAY, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2020) — A Discovery Bay motorcycle accident involving a big rig truck on at Discovery Bay Boulevard.
The fatal motorcycle crash was reported at 1:46 p.m. on Nov. 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Volvo semi-truck reportedly struck the 17-year-old motorcyclist in the westbound lanes of State Route 4 near Old River Bridge. It’s unknown what led up to the two-vehicle crash. The teenager was from Stockton.

Police issued a SigAlert due to the westbound lanes being blocked by the vehicles. Later, the coroner was called to the crash scene. The name of the person who died has not been released, pending notification of their family. The police report did not reveal the gender or age of the individual.
The motorcycle was totaled in the crash and towed. There were few details about what led up to the crash. Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact the CHP.
