Woman Killed in Crash on 80 Freeway
DIXON, Calif. (July 17, 2018) — At least one person died and two were injured Tuesday morning in a collision on the westbound Interstate 80 freeway near the state Route Highway 124 off ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 9:50 a.m. and was blocking the on ramp. The black 4-door Dodge sedan veered across lanes from the southbound side and struck another motorist, before it overturned onto its roof near the on ramp. A woman who was in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The victim, another adult and a child were all trapped in a vehicle. Firefighters responded and extricated all those involved.
Traffic Accident Investigation
At this time, we do not know what caused this collision. The facts of this case are under investigation to determine fault.
