COSTA MESA, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2024) — Dolores Pliego, 61, died in a pedestrian accident near Orange Coast College Friday morning at Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive in Costa Mesa.
The collision occurred at around 6:10 a.m. on February 16th, according to MyNewsLA and the Costa Mesa Police Department.
A driver struck the woman due to unknown circumstances. Costa Mesa police officers and the Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue Department responded and located the Costa Mesa woman in the roadway suffering from life-threatening injuries.
She was transported by ambulance to a local trauma hospital for treatment.
However, despite efforts to save her life, Dolores Pliego died at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with police and was not arrested.
The Costa Mesa Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau’s Major Accident Investigation Team is heading up the investigation.
