Dominic Appleby, 21, Badly Injured in Arnold DUI Crash on Eastbound Highway 4
ARNOLD, CA (April 20, 2021) – Dominic Appleby was badly injured after a DUI crash along Highway 4 near a state park in Arnold.
The California Highway Patrol said 21-year-old Modesto resident was riding as a passenger in a 2006 Honda Civic on Saturday in Arnold.
The incident happened on April 17 when the Honda was going west on Highway 4 near the entrance of Calaveras Big Trees State Park. At the same time, a 2004 Ford F-250 was traveling east.
The Civic then slowed to go over the centerline, directly into the path of the pickup truck. CHP said the Honda struck the Ford F-250 head-on.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found Dominic M. Appleby suffering from moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
They rushed Dominic Appleby and the male driver of the pickup with minor wounds to the Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.
An air ambulance transported the woman driving the Civic to a Modesto hospital with major injuries. The Calaveras Enterprise and My Mother Lode reported the wreck shortly after 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the airlifted motorist was under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred. Authorities placed her under arrest for felony DUI, causing injury.
The Arnold crash is still under investigation.
