Man Killed in Fiery Vehicle-Bus Crash on 10 Freeway Identified

Don Yves Torralba Cube Fatal Alhambra Car, Metro Bus Crash ALHAMBRA, Calif. (May 7, 2019) — Don Yves Torralba Cube, 39, of Pomona, has been identified as the man who was killed when his vehicle crashed into a stalled Metro Silver Line bus and caught fire on the San Bernardino Interstate 10 Freeway in Alhambra.

The crash took place about 8:10 p.m. on April 30 on the westbound 10 Freeway near Fremont Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Mr. Cube suffered major injuries and died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner’s office reported.

The bus was carrying four passenger and a driver, but none of them were hurt. The bus reportedly stalled because of an electrical problem, according to Jose Ubaldo, a Metro communications manager.

Police are reviewing the facts surrounding this collision and will determine liability for this man’s death.

Our thoughts and prayers extend to the family of Mr. Cube as they cope with this tragedy.
