Police Searching for Hit-and-run Driver in Jeep Gladiator
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (Sept. 12, 2023) — Donald Berg, 63, died Saturday in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Railroad Canyon Road.
The collision occurred at an unknown time before 2:47 p.m. on Sept. 9th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner report.
CBS News reported that investigators are looking for a suspect who struck the victim’s 2006 Yamaha Star motorcycle from behind and continued driving without stopping to help him.
Donald Berg was thrown off the bike and he was located roughly 20 feet from the motorcycle in the roadway.
Other motorists who were not involved in the crash, stopped to help the victim and diverted traffic away from the victim on the freeway. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, investigators are looking for the suspect’s vehicle described as a newer-model Jeep Gladiator based on evidence left at the scene.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the traffic accident, should contact California Highway Patrol’s Temecula office.
