
Donald Nute, 53; and Gary McIntosh, 66, Injured in Sonora Crash on Highway 49
SONORA, CA (April 18, 2023) – A crash injured Donald Nute and Gary McIntosh at Highway 49 and Shaws Flat Road in Sonora.
The California Highway Patrol identified the two Sonora residents as drivers involved in the accident which took place on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened when Donald Nute was driving a 2021 Chevy Silverado and Gary McIntosh was driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra in Sonora.
CHP said the Chevy, going south on Highway 49, pulled out from the stop sign at Shaws Flat Road. In the process, the Silverado went into the path of the Toyota traveling on Highway 49.
2 Cars Collide
The two pickup trucks then collided. The Union Democrat and My Mother Lode wrote that the wreck occurred on April 18 at about 12:15 p.m. outside Columbia.
Both Donald Nute, 53; and Gary McIntosh, 66, sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the reports added that pool chemicals from the Chevy spilled onto the roadway during the accident. The cause of the Sonora crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced Shaws Flat Road to shut down at the Highway 49 intersection to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
