Downed Power Lines to Blame for Electrocution
HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (August 22, 2017) — A downed power line is being blamed for the death of 62-year-old Donald Wayne Vonflotow at 8272 Brush Drive, according to the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner and the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The fatal electrocution was reported about 12:23 a.m. outside of the victim’s home on Monday morning. An image of the home on Google Maps shows a single power line that runs in the front of the victim’s home close to the curb line. However, the report stated the man’s power went out and he went into the backyard to see what happened.
The victim died at the scene of the incident. There was a resulting power outage in the area affecting some 199 Edison customers, police said.
