
Donna Almendrala, 36, Injured in Sebastopol Pedestrian Crash on Burnside
SEBASTOPOL, CA (January 26, 2023) – A pedestrian crash left Donna Almendrala injured on Burnside Road in Sebastopol.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 36-year-old Sebastopol woman as the victim in the accident which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Donna Almendrala was walking southbound along the edge of Burnside Road in Sebastopol. She was holding her baby boy in a sling at the time.
CHP said a truck was traveling in the same direction in the area. For an unknown reason, the side mirror of the vehicle struck the woman north of Bloomfield Road.

The Press Democrat wrote that the collision occurred in the morning of January 26. Donna Almendrala sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident.
Her child ended up suffering from minor injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene and provided treatment to both victims.
CHP named the 55-year-old driver as Scott Gibbs, of Sebastopol. The report added that the mirror of his truck did not hit the baby at the time of the incident.
Officers forced a stretch of Burnside Road to shut down following the collision. The cause of the Sebastopol pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
